Canyon sunflower is an incredibly charming and valuable deciduous shrub native to the shaded canyons of central and southern California. One of the more sought-after shrubs in native horticulture, this species is most definitely a standout in native gardens for its brilliant yellow flowers and large dark green leaves. Use this species in a shadier area of your garden to provide structure and color, and of course to bring all of the pollinators to your yard.
